Practical seminar “Topical issues in AML/CFT for Non-State Pension Funds and Management Companies. Inspection practice of the Russian Central Bank” organized by the National Association of Non-State Pension Funds was held on October 25, 2016.
The event was aimed at discussing new amendments into the law on anti-money laundering and combatting the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT), as well as issues of cooperation between the state regulators and financial organizations as regards AML/CFT. The representatives of non-state pension funds, managements companies, Russian Central Bank and the Russian financial monitoring authority Rosfinmonitoring took part in the discussion.
Dmitry Gavrilenko, Senior Associate at Capital Legal Services, spoke at the seminar. Dmitry’s report covered the amendments to Federal Law “On anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism” as regards legal entities’ obligation to disclose information on their beneficiaries. These amendments concern the activity of all legal entities registered in Russia and enter into effect starting from December 21, 2016. Dmitry’s report was followed by a lively discussion and had positive feedback from the seminar participants.
