Victoriya Smirnova is a Senior Associate of the Litigation practice at CLS.
Victoriya specializes in defending clients in court in various disputes, including bankruptcy cases of individuals and legal entities, as well as those related to real estate and construction transactions. Victoriya's key skill is working with complex projects that require review of large amounts of information and documents. Victoriya represents clients in commercial arbitration courts and courts of general jurisdiction, has considerable experience of interacting with various state authorities, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Prosecutor's Office, State Labor Inspection, Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, Federal Court Bailiff Service, various specialized committees of the Government of St. Petersburg and others.
Specifically, Victoriya was involved in a significant litigation dispute for a client with a contractor in bankruptcy. As a result of the review, it was possible to achieve a real benefit for the client by balancing counterclaims against the debtor, rather than simply being included in the register of claims. In addition, Victoriya participates in other complex litigation projects involving issues of payment of the contractual value of works, additional works, reduction of fines and penalties under construction contracts.
In addition to litigation practice, Victoriya is involved in providing support for clients' day-to-day activities, including both audit of the terms of already signed lease agreements, purchase and sale of real estate / future real estate, construction contracts, supply contracts, etc., as well as drawing up new agreements.
