On February 28, 2017, the SPIBA Finance Committee held a round table on the topic of “Taxes 2017. What can investors expect?” The event was aimed at summarizing the results of 2016 and the expectations the professional community has as to the tax climate, considering current trends.

Among the speakers of the round table there were practicing tax experts and consultants who spoke about the changes in the tax laws, as well as the latest trends in court practice.

Anastasya Kuzmina, Senior Associate at Capital Legal Services, spoke on the topic of “Payments abroad & beneficial owners,” telling about the development of the concept of beneficial owners in Russia and on notorious court cases in this area in the past year and the beginning of 2017. The questions voiced by the participants of the round table in the course of the discussion of this topic showed how vital and interesting it is for business representatives.
