Irina Onikienko, Partner at Capital Legal Services, recently served as a moderator for a round table discussion on the business risks associated with recent developments in criminal law. The seminar was organized by the  St. Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA), a leading business association of St. Petersburg and the northwest region of Russia.

Irina Onikienko presented on “Trends in Criminal Law in the Russian Federation,” in which she analyzed recent changes related to the creation of a safe business environment in Russia.

“In light of recent developments in criminal and criminal procedure laws, special attention should be paid to the risks arising from bankruptcy, as well as in the field of tax legislation, especially when using tax schemes which are likely to be under close scrutiny from law enforcement bodies” – noted Irina Onikienko, Partner at Capital Legal Services.
