Elena Berger, Senior Associate for intellectual property speaks at the Young Lawyers of Russia – 2017 forum

On December 2-3, 2017, the IV International educational forum “Young Lawyers of Russia – 2017” took place in Moscow, organized by the Young Lawyers of Russia social movement, with support from the Russian Civic Chamber.
A total of 400 talented young lawyers from Russia and 15 other countries gathered at the event. A key topic of the forum was how young people are structuring the image of Russia’s future and collaboration of the country with other states. The participants discussed changes in the global legal system, in the economy and in society, as well as possible ways for countries to solve common problems.
Elena Berger, Senior Associate for Intellectual Property practice at Capital Legal Services, participated in the forum as speaker and told the audience about practical aspects in the brand protection strategy.
In her presentation, Elena spoke about all stages of protecting a brand: from registration of rights to trademarks to holding violators liable under civil or administrative law. Over 200 participants showed interest in Elena’s presentation. After the presentation, many questions were asked and a heated debate followed.

Among the participants of the event there were Mikhail Fedotov, representative of the Russian Presidential Council for development of civil society and human rights, Bertrand Mathieu, professor at Sorbonne University (Paris), Dmitry Vyatkin, first deputy of the State Duma Committee for development of civil society and questions of social and religious associations, as well as representatives of major law firms.
