What was the new CLS business breakfast about and how useful was it?
Let’s say you are a lawyer or owner of a company whose IT employee developed internal corporate software which then turned out to be in demand on the external markets.
Or the specialists hired by your company developed an outstanding marketing plan.
Or perhaps a very talented employee made unique photographs while performing tasks given by his superior.
It is important for companies from these examples to understand in time whether they are dealing with works for hire being IP deliverables, and how to properly structure their relations with the authors. Otherwise, the risks of claims from employees are high – they are entitled to demand special remuneration or compensation in consideration for their creativity.
In order to assist with mitigating such IP deliverables-related risks, Elena Berger, Head of IP practice, and Vladislav Scherbatykh, associate, held a dedicated business breakfast.
The event at the Lambic brasserie turned out to be both useful and enjoyable. Guests found the topic almost unique, and the speakers managed to cover it in full. In addition, the participants noted a specific, democratic and at the same time elegant atmosphere of the event.
