Irina Akimova and Dmitriy Gavrilenko will speak at the VIII annual “Antitrust Regulation in Russia” conference

On October 31, 2016, Of Counsel and the Head of Antitrust Practice at Capital Legal Services Irina Akimova will moderate a conference session “Problems and Prospects of Antitrust Compliance Development in Russia” within the VIII annual conference “Antitrust Regulation in Russia,” arranged by the Antitrust Experts Association and the Vedomosti newspaper with support from the Federal Antitrust Service (FAS). Senior associate of Capital Legal Services Dmitriy Gavrilenko will give a presentation at the conference within a session devoted to the practice of applying antitrust law, where he will speak of interesting aspects connected with establishing monopoly high prices.
Antitrust compliance is among the most interesting and debatable topics on the agenda for antitrust regulation. Business representatives and experts are interested in learning what this new institute will be, whether it will become effective for business and how it will be implemented in practice.
As a moderator of the session on antitrust compliance, Irina Akimova, together with the experts and participants of the conference, will discuss the institute being new to Russia and aiming at preventing antitrust law violations. During the session, the plans are to examine such issues as the parts of antitrust compliance that must be specified in the law and FAS guidelines, incentives for companies to employ antitrust compliance, its key performance indicators (KPIs) and other vital issues. Participants of the session will also discuss possible means to evolve and develop the new institute based on foreign experience.
Dmitriy Gavrilenko will speak at the session “Practice of applying antitrust legislation.” Within this session, participants will discuss the main trends in antitrust legislation, in particular, the impact of new instruments introduced by the 4th antitrust package and vital issues that the relevant state and private entities face. Dmitriy will present a report on interesting aspects connected with applying the comparable markets method and will speak on existing issues and possible directions for developing this part of antitrust legislation.
