Unfair competition and business. Andrey Astanin, Of Counsel of the Antitrust practice, speaks at conference of the Russian Federal Antitrust Service

On November 16, 2017, the IV All‑Russian Research and Practical Conference “Unfair competition and business. Impact on development” was held in Kazan. The conference was organized by the Federal Antitrust Service (FAS), the FAS Education and Methodology Center and the FAS Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan.
Nikolai Kartashov, Head of the FAS Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition opened the conference. He spoke of common forms of unfair competition.
The conference focused on the impact of unfair completion on business development and the position of small, medium and large businesses on the sales, works, services and production markets. Representatives of the FAS presented an overview of unfair competition cases and an analysis of the most interesting and high-profile cases in this field.
Andrey Astanin, Of Counsel of the Antitrust practice, spoke on the topic of “Establishing unfair competition facts.” Andrey gave a detailed description of the attributes of unfair competition, special aspects of documenting evidence on the Internet, as well as of the problems and methods for their remedy.
At the end of the conference, proposals were elaborated on improving the institution of protection against unfair competition and enhancing the legal culture of business entities.
State authorities and such major federal companies as MegaFon, KAMAZ and others took part in the event.
