Comprehensive project support on personal data protection issues for a global leader on the reinsurance market
The CLS team supported the client in conducting a comprehensive update of documentation and processes in the field of personal data processing. The project was complicated by the need to comply not only with the general requirements of Federal Law “On personal data,” but also with special industry regulations for insurance organizations, including the Law “On organization of insurance business.”
Within the project, CLS also provided legal structuring of cross-border transfer of personal data to the countries where the client has a presence. This process required taking into account both new regulatory requirements and the specifics of reinsurance activities (retrocession) in the Russian Federation, as well as compliance with the global corporate rules of the parent company regarding data exchange between group companies.
