CLS team represented the interests of a large construction company in a number of disputes related to the bankruptcy of a contractor in a construction project. The team implemented a comprehensive legal approach that included supporting the client's interests in a dispute over the inclusion of claims in the debtors register, a dispute over subsidiary liability of controlling persons and a parallel case involving a contractor's claim for recovery of work costs. Our lawyers developed a successful strategy of imposing legal pressure on the counterparty in the bankruptcy case, which made it possible for the client's claims to be retained in the register, to balance out the counterclaims and to conclude a favorable settlement agreement with offsets and installment payments for the client.
