Mikhail is an expert in sustainable development. He specializes in developing and deploying sustainable development strategies for business and has unique experience in implementing large-scale projects for leading European energy companies.

Mikhail started his sustainable development path in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

In 2015, Mikhail was among the few Russian members of the expanded working group on developing the UN General Assembly resolution “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” which heralded the start of the sustainable development era. While an expert of a working group, he contributed to the formation of global standards for sustainable development which today determine the vector of development for business and states around the world.

As part of his professional activity, Mikhail consults on issues of making annual non-financial reporting for companies compliant with the Russian recommendations for non-financial reporting, as well as with international standards (GRI, SASB).

An important area in his practice is interaction with international ESG ratings in the Asian Pacific region, which are ready to rank Russian companies as to their compliance with international sustainable development standards.

In addition, Mikhail worked at the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, where he was engaged in practical analysis of the energy markets of the CIS and Middle East, as well as in interacting with state authorities on issues of promoting the projects of Russian energy companies on these markets. He was a regular participant in drafting proposals for intergovernmental commissions with other countries in the fuel and energy complex.

Mikhail also provides support for projects in the oil and gas sector and in seeking optimal industry solutions for companies of the fuel and energy complex, including as concerns compensation for harmful emissions.

Mikhail holds an MBA in energy business management and successfully engages in practical expert activities while also performing science academic work.
