On September 30, 2024, a law was published which amends the provisions of the Russian Labor Code as concerns granting additional days of leave for work on weekends or non-working holidays.

In February of this year, amendments were introduced to the Russian Labor Code (the "Labor Code") concerning guarantees for persons with family responsibilities in cases where an employment contract is to be terminated.

As of March 1, 2024, amendments to the Law on Foreigners took effect. The amendments concern, in particular, the established amount of remuneration payable to foreign citizens working as highly qualified specialists (hereinafter "HQS").

Moscow has extended restrictive measures in respect to certain categories of individuals until April 1, 2022.

Starting December 29, 2021, amendments to the Law “On legal status of foreigners” will take effect. On October 1, 2019, new Federal Law No.191-FZ dated 18.07.2019 takes effect. This law introduces certain amendments to the Russian Commercial Arbitration Procedural Code governing particular issues tied to class action lawsuits in the commercial arbitration process, and introduced a similar institute to the Russian Civil Procedural Code.

Federal Law “On migration registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Russian Federation” was brought in line with the Russian Constitution.

After analyzing provisions of Federal Law “On migration registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Russian Federation”, the Constitutional Court decided that the Law is unclear as to a number of concepts, including the concept of “place of stay.” 

Starting July 1, 2017, employees can register a sick leave certificate in e‑form.
