Project support for registration of subsoil use rights during construction of a cement plant and asset restructuring in bankruptcy

The project provided for the construction of a cement plant in one of the regions of the Russian Federation and required comprehensive support as concerns subsoil use issues, including registration of rights to use the subsoil to provide the enterprise with a mineral resource base, as well as support for the transfer of relevant rights in bankruptcy proceedings related to a change in the ownership structure of the asset.

CLS lawyers provided legal assistance with registration and renewal of rights related to the use of mineral resources, analyzed the license terms, applicable restrictions and regulatory requirements, assessed the risks associated with the bankruptcy procedure and developed a legal model for the transfer of rights on terms acceptable for the client.
